We are committed to enhancing safety on-site and reducing the risk of accidents, which is why we are now offering the Vehicle Collision Avoidance System (VCAS) as an optional safety feature for our dumper fleet. This advanced system is designed to improve operator awareness, reduce reliance on manual monitoring, and enhance overall site safety.
How VCAS Works
VCAS uses high-precision sonic sensors, housed in three front-mounted units, to detect objects within a configurable range of up to 6 metres. If an obstacle is detected, the system immediately issues a clear and loud “Object detected” audible alert, ensuring the driver is promptly warned and can take appropriate action.
Key Benefits of VCAS
✅ Reliable Object Detection – The system’s three front-mounted sensor units continuously scan the dumper’s path, detecting obstacles early to help prevent collisions. The detection range can be adjusted to suit different site requirements.
✅ Immediate Audible Alerts – When an object enters the detection zone, VCAS instantly warns the driver with a loud, unmistakable “Object detected” alarm, reducing reaction time and improving safety.
✅ Minimised Blind Spot Risks – Large vehicles like dumpers often have limited visibility, particularly in low-light conditions, congested worksites, or adverse weather. VCAS enhances situational awareness, making it easier to detect hazards without relying solely on mirrors or spotters.
✅ Reduced Vehicle Damage & Downtime – By proactively preventing collisions, VCAS helps reduce repair costs and operational downtime, keeping projects on schedule and minimising unexpected expenses.
With on-site safety being a top priority, VCAS provides an extra layer of protection for both personnel and equipment. Whether operating in high-traffic zones or challenging terrain, this system ensures safer, more efficient operations.
